Hello

I am a qualified teacher who has  8 years of teaching experience. In this time, as well as class teaching, I have had 3 years experience as a Year Group Leader and 4 years experience as a leader of PSHE.  I have been working with children in one capacity or another for the last 15 years including in schools, in youth groups and volunteer work, in childcare and through 1:1 tuition. In the past 3 years, my interest in children's wellbeing, emotional, social and mental health has developed and during this time, I completed my Masters in Psychology and my Level 2 in Children and Adolescent Mental Health.

Being a teacher has allowed me to see first hand the support that is missing from children's lives. Schools have immense pressure on them to provide all types of support yet the expectations on schools and teachers is impossibly high. Trying to balance these expectations to support children academically, physically, mentally, socially and emotionally over the past 8 years has brought me to realise that I cannot do it all (at least not to the standard that I wanted to be able to do it). That is why, 2 years ago, the idea for ProjectMe was born. I believe avidly that a person’s social, emotional and mental health are the critical components to leading happy, successful lives and therefore I was keen to provide our children, the next generation, with more support, guidance and opportunities to explore who they are, the world around them and how to manage the challenges they face each and every day. I am proud to say that, as a teacher, I made a difference to the lives of so many children but I am now incredibly excited to see what kind of difference I can make to their lives through ProjectMe.
